Our Team

John Rosenbaum, Principal and Co-Owner, Licensed Class A Builder (Virginia) and Licensed Real Estate Agent (VA and DC)

Born and raised in McLean, John’s Northern Virginia roots run deep, as does his local knowledge and love for this region.  John’s father owned Roanoke Engineering, and his mother worked side by side with his father in the business.  Growing up in the building industry, John would spend hours drawing building plans on graph paper, making furniture cut-outs, and rearranging his bedroom furniture.  After graduating from Hampden-Sydney College with a B.A. in Economics, John played professional golf for a short time, before pursuing a career in real estate and development.  John learned from the ground up by doing– renovating homes himself, representing buyers and sellers as a real estate agent, working in mortgage banking, and eventually earning his Class A Builder license and starting Bedrock Development.

Known for his integrity, transparency, and outgoing disposition, John has spent years cultivating the valuable professional and personal relationships that give Bedrock its edge over other area builders.  He communicates and collaborates with clients and business partners with the professional confidence born of experience and a personal ease that comes to him naturally.  The depth and breadth of John’s experience in multiple related industries, coupled with his ability to create rapport, make him a tour de force here at Bedrock Development.

In his leisure time, John still loves to hit the links (socially and competitively), coach his son’s t-ball team, hike with his family and dogs, and kick back with friends and family.  John also actively volunteers as a member of the McLean Rotary Club, Lyon Park Citizens Association, and Arlington Little League.

Darcy Littlefield Rosenbaum, Co-Owner, Operations, Design and Sourcing

Darcy was born and raised in Yarmouth, Maine, a small town on the southern coast, in a quintessential New England saltbox home built in 1775.  Darcy inherited her tireless work ethic from her father.  Always on the go, Darcy’s father was a physical education teacher by day, who owned multiple side businesses, from painting houses in the summer to starting an ice cream company, Little Apple Ice Cream.  Like John, Darcy was born with a knack for design and also spent hours rearranging her bedroom furniture.

Moving to Northern Virginia to attend Marymount University, Darcy earned a B.A. in Health Fitness Management, while playing collegiate soccer and lacrosse.  After college, she worked for The Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Foundation, working directly for Eunice Kennedy Shriver, and then went on to work for Special Olympics International and the 1999 World Games in Raleigh, NC.

Darcy continued her disabilities rights work at The Arc of the United States, a national advocacy organization serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Darcy wore multiple hats at The Arc over the course of her almost 20-year tenure, starting out as the Director of Membership and rising to Senior Executive Officer for Operations.  She oversaw organization-wide operations and logistics, and coordinated large national and international events.  Darcy also spent four years as the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach and Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach at Marymount University, where she channeled her passion for sports, coaching rising athletes, and further grew her love of team building.

As Bedrock Development has grown, the time was right for her to join the company team full-time.  Bringing two decades of operational management and logistics experience and a talent for design and creative sourcing, Darcy is an invaluable asset to Bedrock Development.

In her free time, Darcy continues to be passionate about sports.  She loves to get outside, whether it’s hiking with her dogs or shooting hoops in the backyard with her family. Darcy also actively volunteers with the Lyon Park Citizens Association, and has served as co-president and chaired the Lyon Park Spring Fair.
